Banff Anniversary Session at Moraine Lake

This Banff Anniversary Session at Moraine Lake was such a beautiful morning! We met up with Ashley and Jonathan at 4 am well before the sun came up and headed off down the Moraine Lake road. The peaks were just visible by moonlight. We knew it was going to be a stunning morning as there wasn’t even a breath of wind. This meant that there was going to be an incredible reflection of the valley of the 10 peaks over the lake. 

Ashely and Jonathan planned a trip out to Banff National Park to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. They had originally planned to spend it in Europe but the pandemic put a hold on their trip so they decided to explore somewhere local to Canada instead. We felt so lucky to have spent the morning with these two and we had so much fun hiking around the rock pile finding some amazing views.

Moraine Lake at Sunrise 

Moraine Lake is arguably one of the most incredible views in the area. Every time we have the chance to shoot there we are blown away. The light is always different from the changing weather, making every shoot unique to our couples. One of the challenges of choosing this as your location is the popularity of this location. The parking lot is small meaning it fills up quickly with visitors and when this happens the road closes. For this reason, we always suggest getting up bright and early and enjoying sunrise up at the lake. It’s also our favourite time to take photos as the light is low and soft. 

Dressed in all black these two couldn’t have looked more amazing in front of this beautiful backdrop. We loved their style, their company and couldn’t be happier with how their photos tuned out.
