Jasper Winter Wedding Photos
These Jasper winter wedding photos are such a beautiful reminder of how magical winter in the Canadian Rocky Mountains can be! The snow sparkles in the sunlight, everything is quiet and peaceful and the mountains look so beautiful blanketed in their winter coats. Although it can be cold, we think it’s so worth it to explore this season for your wedding or elopement photos.
Planning a Wedding Thousands of Miles Apart
Julia and Korey have a beautiful story. They both live in different cities in different counties. Originally they had planned to get married in Jasper National Park during the summer where Julia lives. They had planned for all of their family to celebrate with them in the mountains. That was until the pandemic made them rethink their plans. Although this is a story we know all too well by now in the wedding industry, we really felt for these two. Not only did they have to postpone their wedding plans but they were also thousands of miles apart in the process.
Finding a Way to Celebrate Despite the Unknown
Korey reached out a few months after their original wedding was meant to take place. He was granted permission to visit Julia under strict quarantine rules and had made plans to come to Canada! We suggested they plan a fun wedding shoot while they were together. Even though they couldn’t get married in the mountains this year, they could still get some beautiful wedding photos that they had always dreamed of.
Frozen Lakes and Snowy Viewpoints
We met up with these two on a beautiful November afternoon and planned a few little hikes around Jasper National Park for their photos. Exploring the frozen lakes and finding viewpoints to take in the snowy landscapes. Julia made her own bouquet out of silk flowers which meant that it would last forever. She said that the idea was to use it for their wedding when that time could eventually come.
We loved getting to know these two and wish them the world of happiness. If they can make it through a pandemic being so far apart, they can make it through anything! Hope you enjoy looking through their winter wonderland photos in Jasper National Park, Alberta.
