As Jasper Intimate Wedding Photographers we love exploring the amazing landscapes around Jasper National Park. Every time we visit the area we come across new amazing locations to shoot. There is so much diversity within the park, from incredible lakes, glaciers and mountain views as far as the eye can see.

Mountain Weather on your Intimate Wedding Day

You never know what the weather is going to bring on your day. We rarely even trust the weather forecast in the mountains and things can move through in an instant. Cassidy and Casey’s day was a good example on how unpredictable the weather can be. When we all arrived at the Athabasca Day Use Area, their amazing ceremony location, it was a mild sunny day! All of their close family and friends arrived and took their seats. Half way through their ceremony we watched as some dark ominous clouds blew our way. Luckily everyone was prepared with umbrellas and we all watched them say their beautiful vows while the warm summer rain drifted through the valley. It was so romantic and we love celebrating these spontaneous moments.

Athabasca Day Use Area

When Cassidy and Casey told us they were getting married at Athabasca Day Use Area we took the time to scout it out beforehand. We couldn’t believe how beautiful it was and both agreed that it was one of the prettiest ceremony sites in the area! Rows of wooden benches frame a view overlooking the Athabasca River. Mountains tower all around you and wildflowers bloom all around your feet. You couldn’t dream up a more magical place to say ‘I do.’ There is also a beautiful little picnic shelter on site so Cassidy and Casey decided to have their intimate reception there too! They brought in catering and all sat around decorated picnic tables while they shared their first meal as husband and wife.

We had such a fun afternoon with these two exploring golden fields and hiking up to amazing viewpoints for their portraits. We hope you enjoy a look at their beautiful day!
