Banff Winter Engagement Session
This Banff winter engagement session was such a stunning afternoon in the mountains! Sugandha and Shivam first got in contact with us and wanted to get some pre-wedding photos taken in the area. They are planning their wedding in the spring in India and wanted to take advantage of the amazing scenery in the mountains for their engagement photos.
Winter in Banff National Park, Alberta
Banff National Park is stunning in the wintertime. Together we explored some options to find the perfect place for their shoot. We decided on Lake Minnewanka as it has lots of variety at this time of year. There are beautiful snowy fields, pine forests and expansive mountain views! It’s also one of our favourite locations at sunset as the late evening lights up the peaks perfectly.
A Red Dress Amongst the Snowy Mountains
Sugandha had an amazing vision to wear a red gown in the winter landscape. It looked incredible and stood out so beautifully in the blanketed snowy surroundings. As the sun set, we made our way out onto the lake which had only recently frozen a few weeks earlier. We watched ice skaters take advantage of this fleeting time. In a few months, the snow will melt and the ice will thaw. There will be boats where these two are standing in these photos. The way this landscape changes so drastically with the seasons is one of the best parts about being a photographer in this beautiful area.
We hope you enjoy a look into this sunset winter shoot in the mountains!
