Angele & Jeremy
Elopement at Wedge Pond Kananaskis
This elopement at Wedge Pond Kananaskis was such a beautiful rainy afternoon. Like many couples this year, Angele and Jeremy had planned something quite different for this day and had to postpone their wedding celebrations on Vancouver Island. They both had their hearts set on getting married on their original date so decided to make the most of it and elope in the mountains!
When they told us their plans to elope in the mountains, we couldn’t wait to help them find their perfect location. They wanted to find somewhere a little more intimate and special to say their vows. We sent through our Location Guide which lists all of our favourite places in the area and they decided that Wedge Pond in Kananaskis was their special spot!
A Green Wedding Dress and a Feather in His Hat.
We met Angele and Jeremy at Wedge Pond, a short drive from the town of Canmore on a beautiful cloudy evening in the mountains. Angele stepped out of the car in her amazing green velvet dress and yellow moccasins. Jeremy then followed looking just as wonderful sporting suspenders, a floral tie and orange hat complete with a feather in it. They looked incredible together. We couldn’t wait to get them married!
Together with their officiant Twyla, we walked down to the shoreline where we found a perfect little spot to say ‘I do’. They exchanged their vows while it began to rain. Leaving perfect patterns across the still pond. After the documents were signed and everything was official we took some time to wander around the lake and get some portraits of the newlyweds. The mountain views were so incredible from every direction. We took advantage of all the different angles we could find with the rain rolling through the mountain peaks.
Top it off with a Wedding Cake in the Woods
We love it when our couples take wedding traditions and reinvent them in new ways. Angele and Jeremy wanted to have a cake to celebrate so we found a beautiful little spot in the forest. They decorated a picnic table amongst the birch trees and cut their cake with a knife used at Angele’s parents wedding. It was the perfect end to a beautiful evening in the mountains.
