Hiking Wedding Photos in Kananaskis

These hiking wedding photos in Kananaskis Country were so much fun to create! Kelly and Alex are mountain people and love going on adventures outdoors. They planned a small intimate wedding in Canmore for their day but decided they wanted to capture what they love doing together the most for their wedding portraits. For this reason, they decided to book a sunset adventure session with us to celebrate!

The first thing you will notice in these portraits is Kelly and Alex are proud new parents! It was so important for them to include little Louis on their adventure and include him in the photos of this special moment in their lives.

Planning Wedding Photos and Hiking with a Little One

I’m sure you can imagine that planning an adventure with a little one has its extra challenges. Not only are you hiking up a mountain but you are carrying another person up too! I’m sure you can all agree with us in thinking that Kelly is one super mom!

Alex and Kelly thought about everything to make sure that Louis was safe and happy on this hike. This included making sure we chose a location that was not too far of a drive and minimal hiking time so that he wasn’t travelling for too long. They also brought along their amazing friend Lisa who looked after Louis while we took photos around the area. Lisa was able to find some shelter out of the wind to keep him safe and happy while we were up on the ridge. They also took into consideration feeding and nap times to make sure the trip went as smoothly as possible.

We truly admire Kelly and Alex for their beautiful sense of adventure and for passing that on to Louis at such a young age. I always love seeing how new parents welcome their children into their family by joining in on what already makes them happy like hiking in the mountains! I love to imagine Louis looking back on these photos in years to come and thinking about how amazing his parents were to do something so adventurous for their wedding photos!
