Lisa & Donny
Bragg Creek Intimate Wedding
This Bragg Creek Intimate Wedding was such an amazing day to be a part of. Sometimes we walk into a room and feel instantly welcome and connected to the people around us. This was one of those days. Lisa and Donny and their whole family were so warm and wonderful and we felt so lucky to be able to share this day with them.
Lisa and Donny originally planned to have a bigger wedding but when new restrictions were put in place due to COVID they were forced to rethink their original plans. Lisa’s family home is on an amazing property in Bragg Creek. Her parents live in a beautiful log cabin backing onto the forest. They decided since they were now planning a more intimate day that a backyard wedding would be so meaningful to them.
A Backyard Wedding and Hiking Adventure
The setting was incredible. They set up a tent for the reception dinner, a fire pit area and even a dance floor on the property. We found out that a lot of landscaping and work had gone into designing this space so it worked for the wedding and we were so amazed at what they had all put together.
Lisa and Donny love hiking and going on adventures together which is what drew them to our work. They decided that they wanted to split up their day into two parts. Their wedding day would focus on time with their family where they would have their official ceremony and backyard party. A few days later we planned a sunset hike for their portraits where we could get some epic hiking photos that they had always dreamed of. In our opinion, this is such a lovely way to celebrate without compromising family time and photos.
A Special Ceremony Location Overlooking the Rocky Mountains
These two spent a lot of time finding the perfect spot for their ceremony location. They knew they wanted to find a special spot somewhere close to home in Bragg Creek but wanted it to feel intimate but still accessible for all of their family. They spent days scouting out different areas and short walks in the woods until they discovered a perfect little clearing overlooking the mountains. This was the spot! We love when our couples hunt out their own secret locations for their ceremony. It’s such a special adventure in itself to share together.
We hope you enjoy these photos of Lisa and Donny’s two-part wedding! We had so much fun celebrating and hiking with these wonderful humans and know they are going to create the most amazing life together in the years to come.
