Banff Boho Adventure Elopement

This Banff boho adventure elopement was such a beautiful afternoon exploring Kananaskis Country just outside of Banff National Park in Alberta. These two free-spirited souls were so much fun to hang out with and we loved hearing all about their story and how they came to find each other. One of our favourite parts of being Banff elopement photographers is discovering all the details of our couple’s story that have led them to this point in time. And of course, watching them commit to each other in a beautiful way, unique to them to start the next chapter of their lives.

Navigating Wedding Plans in the World Today

Lisa and Kevin first got in contact with us when they had decided to postpone their destination wedding in Croatia this year due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Lisa grew up in Germany and Kevin is from Vancouver so it was important for all of their family to be in one place. Even though they decided to wait until their Croatian adventure they couldn’t wait to be married to each other. They decided to have a small backyard wedding in their hometown of Calgary to make things official. They came to us with the idea of getting some amazing adventurous portraits in the mountains to celebrate their spontaneous elopement and we couldn’t wait to find the perfect place to explore with them!

Barefoot Bride and a Mountain Top Adventure

Lisa showed up in a beautiful off the shoulder summer lace dress. She kicked off her shoes when we got down to the lake. We started taking portraits of these two amongst the incredible landscape. Mountains, lakes and birds consumed the space around them making for the most amazing photos. We then laced up our hiking boots and headed up a trail to a beautiful lookout for sunset. Even though it wasn’t a sunny afternoon the afternoon light filtered through the clouds making for such a beautiful evening. Exploring around the rocky mountain ridges was so much fun and we can’t thank Lisa and Kevin enough for inviting us along to create these memories for them.
