Kananaskis Sunrise Hiking Engagement
Where do we even begin with this Kananaskis Sunrise Hiking Engagement? We were lucky enough to get the most incredible morning, with an amazing couple. As engagement photographers, you cant really ask for anything better than this and it’s the perfect recipe for some wild photos! Jayne reached out to us and told us she was recently engaged and planning a trip to Banff National Park. Jayne and her fiancé Brad wanted to go on an adventure to celebrate their engagement while they were in the area. Once we found out that these two were down to hike up to somewhere amazing we fired off some of our favourite trails in the area. This particular trail has been closed most of the summer due to bear activity so we held off until the week of the shoot to make a final call. Luckily, the week we planned the hike, the trail re-opened and our minds were made up!
Hiking in the Canadian Rocky Mountains
If you’re up for setting an early alarm, hiking up to somewhere for sunrise always makes for amazing photos! In our opinion, dawn is the most peaceful time of day and you always have the whole place to yourself. It’s also such a unique experience waking up in the dark and hiking a trail guided only by your headlamp, the stars and the moon. Our favourite part is watching the world slowly come into light, revealing all the incredible views around you. This morning had to be one of the nicest we have ever had in the mountains. To the east it was clear so it lit up the different layers of clouds above us at different times. It was like having our own private light show. As photographers, it is such an amazing time to take photos as you can have so much variation of light in such a short amount of time.
