Iceland Intimate Wedding
Jess & Curtis
Iceland Wedding Photographer
We have always wanted to shoot as an Iceland Wedding Photographer. While it’s impossible to summaries Jess and Curtis’ Icelandic wedding adventure in one short paragraph, I think Ewan, Jess’s dad, described it perfectly at the end of the weekend when he said ‘well that was an epic few days.’
We felt so lucky to be welcomed into this beautiful meeting of Jess’ English and Curtis’ Canadian family. The countryside was blanketed in an unusual amount of snow for an Icelandic winter, with storms blowing across the small island the week before. They rearranged their Air bnb property into an intimate ceremony space as we all listened to the story of their love while we watched the snow and sunlight battle and dance outside.
After a few celebratory cocktails mixed by the rotating guest bar-staff, we all headed down the road to the Hotel Borealis where we all enjoyed a candle lit meal in-between choruses of song, speeches and laughter. Iceland then saved the best for last as the clouds parted and the dance floor cleared as we watched the northern lights dance across the arctic sky.
