We met Elise and Dan at the trailhead in the dark at 5.30am, ready for their Larch Valley engagement shoot. We zig-zagged our way up the mountain guided by our headlamps. As we made our way through the alpine meadows and above the tree line, the light began to slowly reveal the snowy peaks and lakes above. They braved the early morning fall temperature as Dan helped Elise into her beautiful red dress. I could not believe how adventurous these two were running through the snow as we were in all of our winter layers and still shivering. We then made our way down the mountain and were blown away by all of the fluorescent colours of the larch trees. It had been too dark to see the colours on the way up so we took our time wandering through the forest on the way down. We finished off this session with a quick walk up to the rockpile at Moraine Lake to get a different vantage point of the hike we had just done. It’s so nice when we find couples who are excited about hiking for their engagement photos and we can’t thank Elise and Dan enough for making this adventure so enjoyable!
