Edmonton Wedding
Its not every day that you get to watch your friends get married under the full moon so when Amanda and Alex asked us to be the lucky ones to photograph their day we were thrilled. We don’t get the chance to travel up to Edmonton very often but we were so blown away by all the beautiful fall colours and natural beauty around the river valley and had so much fun exploring this new territory.
Ceremony Under the Stars
Amanda and Alex planned such a unique day. Their ceremony was in the Zeidler Dome in the Telus World of Science, with the stars and full moon over head. One of their best friends Kenny lead a beautiful ceremony telling their story and the unique connection they have. Behind them the girls were holding bouquets made of succulents that lit up in the dark room. We have photographed a lot of weddings and have never seen a wedding ceremony like this.
Fall Colours and Smoke Bombs
As we haven’t spent much time in Edmonton we came up the day before to scout around and find some portrait locations. We were taken by surprise at how many beautiful locations there were just outside of the city. The river valley was lit up in amazing fall colours and we found a few little gems to hit up on the day. They brought a few smoke bombs along to play with and it was such a fun group of people to spend the afternoon with. As the sun was setting we found a little lookout and took a few more photos overlooking the river before hopping back into the limo and making our way to the reception.
Fantasyland Hotel
Inside West Edmonton Mall you will find Fantasyland Hotel. It is listed as one of the worlds most unique hotels which each room uniquely decorated in different themes from Roman rooms to Space rooms. Their reception was held in the Beverly Hills Ballroom everyone was eagerly awaiting the bride and groom. We all enjoyed an amazing meal and listed to beautiful speeches. It was hard to find a dry eye in the room! This was a true testament to how wonderful these two families are and it was so special to see how much love they all have for one another. We feel so lucky to have been there to both capture all of the memories but also celebrate our friends. Thanks so much for having us Amanda and Alex!
